GIFT CARD TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. About These Terms

These Gift Card Terms and Conditions (Gift Card Terms) apply to all gift cards issued by Courtney Brands Pty Ltd after 18 June 2020 (Gift Cards).

By purchasing, redeeming, or attempting to redeem a Gift Card, you agree to be bound by these Gift Card Terms.

2. About Us

This website (the Site) is operated by Courtney Brands Pty Ltd (ABN 97 005 755 224) of 1–3 Edison Rd, Dandenong South, Victoria 3175, Australia (we, us, our).

References to Courtney Brands Pty Ltd include all related brands, including Hippo Blue, Pet Blue, Popic, Bento Masters and Short Story.

3. Gift Card Redemption

Gift Cards may be redeemed for purchases made online only on the specific Courtney Brands Pty Ltd website from which the Gift Card was purchased, unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.

Gift Cards:

  • cannot be redeemed for cash; and

  • cannot be used to purchase other Gift Cards.

4. Purchasing Gift Cards

Gift Cards may be purchased online using the payment methods available at checkout.

The following conditions apply:

  • Gift Cards cannot be purchased using another Gift Card;

  • discount codes or promotional coupons cannot be used to purchase Gift Cards;

  • Gift Cards purchased on their own do not attract shipping fees;

  • if purchased together with physical products, standard shipping fees apply.

Gift Cards are delivered electronically to the email address provided at checkout. The transaction is completed once the Gift Card email has been successfully sent.

5. Gift Card Validity and Expiry

Gift Cards:

  • are activated on the date of purchase; and

  • are valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase, in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.

Expired Gift Cards cannot be extended, replaced or redeemed.

6. Using Your Gift Card

Gift Cards:

  • may only be redeemed on the website from which they were purchased;

  • may be used for purchases up to the available balance;

  • may be used in conjunction with another payment method if the purchase exceeds the Gift Card balance.


Gift Cards cannot be used:

  • in conjunction with coupon-code promotions unless expressly permitted; or

  • where a coupon code has been issued as store credit.


To redeem a Gift Card, enter the unique Gift Card code at checkout and select Apply.

7. Returns and Refunds for Purchases Made with Gift Cards

Goods purchased wholly or partly using a Gift Card may only be returned in accordance with our Returns Policy, which forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

Any refund for returned goods will be issued in the same form as the original payment, unless otherwise required by law.

8. No Cash Advances

Gift Cards:

  • are not legal tender, debit cards or credit cards;

  • cannot be redeemed for cash; and

  • cannot be used to obtain cash advances.

9. Balance Errors

We reserve the right to correct the balance of a Gift Card if we reasonably believe a clerical, accounting or system error has occurred.

10. Lost, Stolen or Misused Gift Cards

You are responsible for providing the correct email address at the time of purchase.

To the extent permitted by law:

  • we are not responsible for Gift Cards that are lost, stolen, deleted or used without permission; and

  • we are not responsible for unauthorised use once a Gift Card has been delivered, unless the misuse resulted from our systems or a failure on our part.

Where fraud, deception or unlawful activity is suspected, we may suspend or cancel a Gift Card or require an alternative payment method.

11. Refunds of Gift Cards

Gift Cards are generally non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Refunds or remedies will be provided where required by the Australian Consumer Law, including where a Gift Card was purchased due to misleading or deceptive conduct, system error, or other circumstances where a refund is required by law.

12. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Gift Card Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws that cannot be excluded.

13. Governing Law

These Gift Card Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
